It is all things summer camp around here these days and the beginning of my daughter’s first summer away from home. After so many years of daydreaming about my summers spent in Maine, it is actually time for my daughter to follow in my footsteps. A real dream come true. Last night I taught her how to make fish hook friendship bracelets. I still have mine from the summer of ’78 (you do the math) and found myself with the same sore thumbs that I had so many years from trying to push those tiny little things closed.
All of these memories so easily come back to me, and after all of this packing and preparing, I just can’t believe that I don’t get to go. I’ll have to suffice with visitors day and an abundance of gorgeous camp imagery currently featured in Martha Stewart Living and Town and Country.
