As most parents know, the amount of clutter (er, artwork) a child generates can be just plain mind-blowing. As adults, class schedules, invitations, and recipes are just a fraction of the paperwork we refer to no matter how organized we try to be on our iPhones.  I have known several adults to fall victim to these tidal waves of papers. (In fact, one adult I know quite well has spent the last 12 hours searching for some missing concert tickets.)

The collection (and necessary purging) of these ephemera on a bulletin board, is one of the best ways to bring organization, not to mention personality and self-expression to any space.  IMG_2450

Installing a bulletin board is a sure-fire solution for such issues and moreover allows you and the younger inhabitants of your home some room for creative expression. IMG_3771A

I have found that by giving yourself (and them) some actual limits for these expressions can bring much needed organization and joy. IMG_2584A

So consider adding a large canvas to cull your paperwork. Make it your own by covering it with fabric or installing it like wallpaper, directly to the wall. Then sit back and revel in your creation with the time you’ve saved looking for those missing concert tickets.
